Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has reassured its commitment to rehabilitate the dilapidated access road to National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) permanent orientation camp in Karaye Local Government Area of the state.
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji who represented the Governor stated this when he received on a courtesy visit, members of the NYSC National Governing Board.
Alhaji added that their administration remain committed in supporting the scheme in the state.
According to him, such is aimed at ensuring that the scheme’s stated objectives are achieved, adding that the NYSC is a major tool for national unity and development.
He said his the administration of Ganduje was working asidiously in providing all necessary support and logistics to the scheme to maintain their existing good relationship.
He further maintained that the State government is working towards addressing the challenges reported at the permanent orientation camp, assuring that he will table all to the governor for further action.
Earlier in her speech, a member of the board who led the delegation, Hajiya Bintu Muazu said they were in Kano to assessed the state of the camp and also the facilities.
She said they have observed some numerous challenges that affects the smooth running of the NYSC orientation camp, which needs serious attention.
The team leader appealed to the state government to expedite action in rehabilitating the access road to the camp due to its poor condition.
She told the governor that such rehabilitation of the road is aimed at easing transportation and movement of Corps members to the orientation camp.
