Breaking: Gov. Ganduje wins supplementary election with 8,982 margin

Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the just concluded governorship re-run election in the state.

Announcing the result of the election, the Collation Officer for the Governorship election in Kano, Prof. Bello Shehu said that the APC candidate had garned 1,033,695, while that of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 1,024,713 votes.

He added that the APC candidate defeated his immediate opponent of the PDP with 8,982 votes margin.

According to Shehu, the winner was declared after the collation of result from all the 28 affected Local Government Areas where the supplementary elections was conducted on Saturday 23.
Time express recalled that the governorship election was earlier declared inconclusive following the high number of cancellation of votes as a result of violence and over voting.

According to the collation officer, the total number of votes cancelled during the earlier election which led to the declaration of the poll as inconclusive was beyond the margin between the PDP candidate which was leading with 26,000 votes and that of the APC candidate.

The PDP candidate, Kabir was earlier declared to have 1,014,474, against the APC candidate Gov Ganduje who garned 987,819 votes.

Time Express further recalled that the votes cancelled during the governorship election was 128,572 votes, which the collation officer said the electoral act has it that such election must be declared inconclusive.

Although, the state’s PDP Chairman, Alhaji Suleiman Rabiu – Bichi had rejected the entire re-run election process, especially that of Gama in Nassarawa Local Government Area.

The PDP Chairman further described the election processes as shameful, therefore called for the immediate cancellation of the exercise for peace to exist.

According to him, the party will not accept the result, therefore refused to sign it.

Below is the breakdown of the governorship election result as collated from all the 44 Local Government Areas of the state and presented to INEC.

Dr. Shehu Usman-Yahaya, collation officer for Governorship election in Madobi Local Government Area (LGA) said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has Scored 24,491,and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 24,473 votes.

He added that the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) candidate which came third in the race in Madobi, Alhaji Salihu Sagir-Takai had also scored 425 votes.

Also, the returning officer for Makoda Local Government Area, Prof. Aliyu Suleiman said that the APC candidate, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje has scored 23,148, and PDP candidate, Alhaji Abba Kabir scored 9,253.

According to Suleiman, the PRP candidate has scored 761 votes.

In Bebeji LGA, the collation and Returning officer for the Governorship election, Prof. Ibrahim Barde announced that the APC candidate has scored 17,4623, and PDP scored 18,533 while PRP got 788 votes.

Dr. Mohammed Yusha’u, the Returning Officer for Kunchi LGA for gubernatorial election said the APC candidate had garned 16,159, while PDP got 13,171, with PRP having scored 270 votes .

In Danbatta LGA, the Returning Officer announced that the APC candidate led with 25,294,defeating the PDP candidate who scored 18,720, leaving PRP to struggle with 2,793.

According to the Returning Officer for Karaye LGA, Prof. Bello Idris said the APC candidate garned 20,087 while PDP got 17,190, leaving the PRP with 383.

Prof. Isa Garba, the Returning Officer for Kibiya LGA, while submitting the governorship election result, said that the PDP candidate defeated that of the APC with 18,13, against 15,601 votes.

Presenting the governorship election result for Albasu LGA, the Returning Officer said that the APC candidate scored 27,162, while the PDP received 18,467, leaving the PRP candidate with 347 votes.

Also announcing the result for Garko LGA, the Returning Officer Abdulsamad Umar-Jibiya said the APC got 16,952, PDP 12,295 and PRP scored 4,204 votes.

In Bunkure LGA, the Returning Officer, Prof. Nuruddeen Magaji announced that the APC candidate scored 20,407 while the PDP candidate got 20,227, leaving the PRP with 2,053 votes.

According to Prof. Mansur Auwal-Bindawa, the returning officer for Rano LGA said the APC candidate had scored 19,031, while that of the PDP got 14,438 and the PRP garned 1,401 votes.

Presenting the governorship election result for Bagwai LGA, the Returning Officer, Prof. Abdullahi Arabi-Suleiman said the APC candidate had garned 20,768 while that of the PDP got 18,511,leaving PRP with 749.

In Tsanyawa LGA, the Returning Officer Abdulhadi Saleh explained that the Ganduje has defeated Abba Kabir with 20,972 against 11,501, while PRP scored 759.

Also presenting the result from Gwarzo LGA, the Returning Officer Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim said APC garned 29,799 while PDP received 24,807, and PRP ended 349 votes.

From Tofa LGA, APC scored 18,843, defeating the PDP who su 14,045, while PRP got 781, according to the Returning Officer for the area, Prof. Mohammed Ajiya.

Dr. Ibrahim Tajo-Suleiman, the Returning Officer for Gabasawa LGA said the APC candidate had scored 18,943, leading the PDP which had 15,018 votes.

Also presenting the result collated from Shanono LGA, the Returning Officer revealed that the APC candidate had scored 20,691, winning the PDP candidate which scored 14,503 and that of the PRP with 1,551 votes.

The Returning Officer for Kabo LGA, Prof. Yahaya Imam-Suleiman said that the APC candidate in the area had scored 27,522, PDP 16,233 while PRP got 491 votes.

In Sumaila LGA, the Returning Officer in the area, Prof. Mustapha Isma’il said that APC scored 24,901, while PDP scored 16,760 and PRP got 1,929 votes.

In his presentation, the Returning Officer of Ajingi LGA, Prof. Balarabe Haruna said that APC ganered 17,711, PDP 14,585, while PRP was left with 500 votes.

The Returning Officer for Warawa LGA, Prof. Umar Sani announced that APC scored 15,100, while PDP got 15,266, and the PRP was left with 1,518 votes.

And also, for Gezawa LGA, the Returning Officer, Prof. Musa Ibrahim-Mohammed said APC garned 20,809,defeated by the PDP, scoring 24,178, and PRP got 1465 votes.

In Kiru LGA, according to the Returning Officer Dr. Mohammed Aminu-Isa, the APC scored 28,765, while PDP ended with 27,868 votes , and PRP scored 364 votes.

Prof. Sani Ibrahim, the Returning Officer for Rimin Gado LGA said that the APC candidate scored 20,916, PDP 13,789 and PRP got 364 votes.

Announcing the result for Gwale LGA, the Returning Officer Prof. Ali Musa said that APC has scored 23,871, and PDP 41,591 votes.

In Wudil LGA, the Returning Officer, Prof. Habu Mohammed said that the APC candidate scored 19,543, the PDP got 18,821 and PRP scored 3,798 votes.

According to Prof. Umar Ibrahim-Gaya, the Returning Officer for Tudun Wada LGA, that APC has 30,474, PDP 22,064 and PRP has 999 votes.

The Returning Officer for Doguwa LGA, Prof. Salisu Dan’azumi disclosed that APC has 22,694, PDP 12,666 while PRP scored 401 votes.

From Dawakin Kudu LGA, the Returning Officer, Prof. Shehu Dalhatu said that APC got 25,905, while  PDP scored 30,963 votes.

In Bichi LGA, the Returning Officer, Prof. Yusuf Suleiman said that the APC candidate has scored 33,927, PDP 27,283 while PRP 1,522 votes.

Also announcing the result for Minjibir LGA, the Returning Officer Prof. Sani Sha’aibu said that the APC candidate got 19,921, PDP, 18,178jcj and PRP 921 votes.

According to the Returning Officer from Garin Malam LGA, Prof. Abdulhamid Umar-Yusuf, the APC candidate scored 21,969, PDP 35,314 and PRP got 5,840 votes.

Prof. Aminu Fagge, the Returning Officer from Tarauni LGA said the APC candidate scored 21,734, PDP 35,314 and that of the PRP got 5,839 votes.

In Gaya LGA, the Returning Officer announced that APC has scored 20,253, while PDP garned 18,616 and PRP got 1,076 votes.

Also from Rogo LGA, the Returning Officer Dr. Shamsuddeen Umar announced that APC has 23,859, PDP 27,504 and PRP got 618 votes.

The Returning Officer for Ungoggo LGA, announced that APC scored 26,843, PDP got 42,247 and PRP scored 3,622 votes.

According to Prof. Hafizu Mudi-Yakasai, the Returning Officer for Dawakin Tofa LGA said that Ganduje scored 32,945, Kabir 17,418 while Takai got 1,151.

In Kura LGA, according to the Returning Officer, Prof,APC garned 23,197, PDP 24,938 while PRP 2,211 votes.

The Returning Officer for Kumbotso LGA, Dr. Sadiq Sani said the APC candidate scored 24,751, PDP 40, 517 while the PRP candidate garned 4,267 votes

Also in Takai LGA, the Returning Officer, Prof. Mukhtar Dauda said that the APC candidate got 23,291, PDP garned 14,268 and the PRP candidate scored 18,431.

According to Prof. Sabo Ibrahim, the Returning Officer for Dala LGA, the APC has scored 35,435, PDP 63,220 and PRP got2,875.

In Kano Municipal, the Returning Officer, Prof. Ahmed Ibrahim-Rufa’i said APC scored 32,394, PDP 57,781 and PRP 7,400 votes.

The Returning Officer for Fagge LGA, Prof. Suleiman Yar’adua while announcing the result, said APC scored 18,370 and PDP candidate got 27,344 votes.

Explaining the result from Nassarawa LGA, the Returning Officer, Prof. Ibrahim Khalid-Abdulsalam sai the APC candidate scored 44,833 PDP 57,758 while PRP garned 5,690 votes.
